Associate Technical Designer New York, NY | Compensation: $70,000 to $90,000 per year We are an established wholesale manufacturer of branded and licensed children’s apparel in New York City seeking an Associate Technical Designer. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining a consistent level of quality and fit across the children’s apparel line. Schedule In-office, five days per week, based in New York, NY. Compensation $70,000 to $90,000 per year. What You’ll Do The Associate Technical Designer will work with Design and Production teams to establish and maintain fit and construction standards that ensure brand consistency and quality. This role creates spec packages for each style, including correct grade rules and non-standard construction details, and performs accurate measurement and evaluation of development and proto samples for spec, quality, and workmanship. The Associate Technical Designer prepares and leads fit sessions with Design and Production, communicates measurement, construction, and workmanship comments to vendors with detailed explanations, diagrams, or patterns as needed, and works with Production and Compliance to ensure all products meet relevant children’s safety requirements. The role also includes responding to vendor and internal questions regarding fit, specs, patterns, and construction. Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of relevant technical design experience, including childrenswear Experience with Browzwear 3D software or similar software Familiarity with measuring sample points of measurement to ensure submitted samples are within tolerance of required specifications Strong knowledge of knit and woven garment construction Knowledge of patternmaking, sewing terminology, and garment construction Understanding of garment manufacturing and the product development process Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Word Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator Compensation and Benefits $70,000 to $90,000 per year Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401k Paid time off To apply, submit your resume for consideration.
