Dressers and the Quick-Change Process

Why Quick Changes Are So Time-Constrained

A dresser often has only 30 to 60 seconds to get a model changed completely from one look into the next and back out on the runway — a genuinely demanding, high-pressure task that requires real preparation and practice, not improvisation.

Preparing for a Quick Change in Advance

Successful quick changes depend on preparation well before the moment itself: garments pre-staged in the correct order, accessories laid out, and the dresser already familiar with exactly how each garment goes on and comes off.

Assigning Dressers to Specific Models or Looks

Assigning each dresser to specific models or a specific sequence of looks (rather than a general pool) lets a dresser build familiarity with exactly what they’re handling, improving speed and reducing errors during the actual show.

Rehearsing Quick Changes Before Show Day

A run-through or rehearsal of the most complex quick changes before the actual show catches timing problems and garment issues while there’s still time to fix them, rather than discovering a change is impossible in 30 seconds during the live show.
