The Booking Process From Casting to Payment

How a Booking Typically Originates

A booking usually begins with a client request to an agency (a specific look, category, or availability need), the agency submitting suitable models, a casting or go-see, and finally a booking confirmation once the client selects a model.

Confirming Booking Details

Once a booking is confirmed, an agency should confirm specific details with both the client and the model — date, time, location, usage rights, and rate — in writing, to avoid later confusion or disputes.

Managing the Actual Job

On the day of the booking, the agency (or a specific booker) remains a point of contact for any issues that arise, though day-to-day on-set management is typically handled by the client’s own production team.

Invoicing and Payment Processing

After a booking, the agency typically invoices the client, collects payment, deducts their commission, and pays the model — a process that can take weeks depending on the client’s payment terms, which a model should understand going in.
